A Time of Celebration

Hi one and all!
This would be the first time for me to post on our family's blog and I couldn't think of a better time to do it. I hope what I have to say brings joy to those that read it as it has to us that experienced it!
The last couple of weeks have been pretty exciting for our little family. This Easter holiday has brought with it many happy memories with many we call friends, and of course, those who are even closer - family.
I've realized that celebrating Easter, along with any meaningful holiday, is a bit of a balancing act when there are little ones that you're celebrating with. There is definitely a hope that they learn the importance of the holiday, what it represents, why it is special to us, as well as a healthy dose of fun and games and, oh, those plastic Easter eggs.
To be honest, I was worried that there would be severe Easter mal-education since Connor and Evan would be getting 4 or 5 different goodie-bags and baskets throughout the holiday. (Seriously, 4 or 5! It was hard work just munching down all that candy so they didn't have too.) I took every opportunity possible as Sunday approached to talk about Jesus and the Resurrection, the candy eggs and the Easter Bunny, just to get the dialogue going. And to my surprise, it turned to be really beneficial. Connor seemed to grasp a concept here and there and asked many genuine questions about so many different things. What a relief! He seemed to be getting it - and that was a really rewarding feeling. And it dawned on me that sometimes it's good to just open up with the kids about anything, don't make it complicated and their learning will come as they ask the questions. Sure they got off on tangents around volcanoes and dinosaurs and planets, but that's the way a child's mind works and they soak it all in if they're interested and they know you're interested in them. What awesome little guys they are!

Bull Crap Anti Mormon literature

I have heard in the past week of about 5 different members of the church that I know who have fallen away because of reading anti Mormon websites! I think this is pretty much ridiculous! It has been in my mind for days and I thought I would write about how I feel. In my opinion what these people have to say about the church has nothing to do with my Savior Jesus Christ. Every religion will have dirt that can be dug up on them! The question these people need to ask is if they have faith in Jesus Christ. I follow the gospel of Jesus Christ and I have found the LDS church to have the most accurate gospel there is! It is so clearly obvious that the organization of our Church is absolutely amazing. To say we are a cult is also really ignorant, how many cults do you know of with over 12 million people in them. There is not another church on the planet that is the same no matter where you go. For that reason alone it is obvious to me that it is run by the order of God. I am sensitive to people questioning their Faith because I have been through this a lot in my life. Just this past week I had someone say something very hurtful and judge mental that made me reflect on my own testimony. This is how my soul searching was answered. There will always be people in the church that make you feel guilty and judge you when they shouldn't. However, this is why the old saying rings true the Church or Gospel is perfect but the people in the church are not! And I am not saying that I am perfect by any means I have many faults, imperfections and trials that I face day to day. I do feel though that I have perfected the ability to not judge anyone because I do not walk in their shoes. So I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not meant to make us feel guilty especially when we have done nothing wrong, I guess what I am trying to say is I don't appreciate feeling shamed nor does anyone. This seems to be they main tool they use on all the websites I have been researching, they say the Mormon church teaches one to feel shame and guilt. I believe this is nor ever was the case. Coming from someone who has made a lot of mistakes I never once have felt that way as an in and out life long member. There is nothing that could ever shake the foundation that my testimony has been built upon because that ROCK is my Savior Jesus Christ. The only intention of The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS has is to bring us joy and happiness through Jesus Christ. I just want to shake these people and ask them does it really matter if the History of the Church is not perfect? Why do you want to leave the church? I think most of the time it is just an excuse to stop following the commandments or the word of wisdom. Do you want to live life being the best you possibly can be? Or do you want to drink and do whatever you want? For me the answer is easy because I have felt the arms of my Savior wrap around me in my hour of need and I cannot deny it. I just want everyone who is questioning their faith to know that if you are questioning it because someone made you feel guilty or unworthy or someone judged you unknowingly then you are questioning your faith for the wrong reason. DON'T let ANYONE make you feel less then you are. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ don't want any of us to feel this way. For those who say that's what our church is -- one big guilt trip know this, you are mislead and you are the ones preaching false doctrine! I am thankful for my testimony and that PEOPLE can't tear it down! I love you all and sorry for the rant!

Spring has Sprung!

We all thought we would be seeing snow on the ground until May!! However, we have been blessed with the most beautiful weather ever this week!! I am in love with Mother Nature right now! It makes everyone happy and energized! We also had a St. Patty/ Bday party this week! Two of the kids I watch turned 2 this past week! I made a little Blues Clues Cake they all love that show! The kiddos have just loved being able to get the daily dose of fresh air
and it makes for nice long naps and wake up free nights!! I LOVE SPRING!

Really an Update

We are still alive and living in MD. We are living in a town house 4 doors down from The Older Doxey's hehe!! Craig is working for Centennial Medical Group and still trying to get into PA school.

Bree has a home daycare and loves it. Although she would love to be able to be with just the boys, she is thankful she is able to work and be with our sweet boys at the same time!!

Connor is now 3 1/2 years old. He is very smart and is quit funny! He loves Evan and the "daycare babies" and tries to teach them new things.

Evan is our little STINKER!! He is always getting into things and flashing us that huge smile that keeps him out of trouble!

We are patiently waiting and hoping to be pregnant with bumble number 3 soon!! No luck yet:(

Evan Daniel Doxey

7lbs 14 oz 20 inches

We named you Evan because it means little fighter, and they were worried about you since mommy was 7 weeks pregnant. When Mommy was 24 weeks pregnant they found several problems with the plecenta and they said you could be born at any time. For the next 15 weeks Mommy had to go to about 3 appointments a week so they could check on you. The good part was I got to see you on the ultrasound once a week and I could you were already such a cutie! It always made me feel so happy to know that you were ok & hanging on strong. We were so thankful to be in Maryland for the rest of the pregnancy because we got so much help from all of your Grandparents! Mommy & Daddy said many prayers of gratitude that you were ok. The last five weeks were pretty hard because Mommy had several contractions and we thaught you were coming every night. Your big brother COnnor was also excited for you to come and he looked at you in Mommys belly everyday. You probably would have stayed in Mommys safe warm womb for 2 more weeks, but when Mommy went to her appointment on May 23 they said it was time to induceand bring you into the world. It was a very long labor but once you realized it was time to enter the world you moved really fast for 2 hours and rewarded me by coming out in 2 pushes! Mommy had some very traumatic stuff happen after but I got to hold you for 10 whole minutes right after you were born. It was truly amazing to be holding this little peice of heaven in my arms, especially after all we had been through together! I love you so much and will never forget how beautiful and perfect you were and still are! I am so greatful to Heavenly Father for protecting you and blessing me with the Miracle of Motherhood all over again!

The Long Awaited Update!

Well between moving cross country, Pregnancy drama, and losing the cord that hooks the camera to the computer we are in much need of an Update! Sorry to keep yall hanging on by a thread for so long! We are finally settled in and Craig has an awesome job at Charter Internal Medicine which he started on Jan. 8th! No wasting time around here! After we got here we had 20 boxes to unpack, walls to paint, and touch ups to be done, all before the carpet was installed on Dec. 29th just seven days after we got here! Needless to say this all was happening just days after I was told I had Placenta Previa and should not lift anything over 5 pounds. However, we have since learned that the placenta looks great now! We have been very blessed in many ways and are so thankful for our new little home!! We hope to move into our own place by summer, its so dang expensive here! We miss Utah and everyone out there! Its good to be back at home though! Here is our new house

How it all began: Bree met Craig at church after Sunday School. The Rose Ball was coming up and she suggested they go together! They virtualy spent everyday after that together, until Craig went back to BYU for Summer Semester. It was then that they relixed they couln't live without each other and the rest is history!
